Family Vacation to Spokane, WA

We went to Spokane, WA for our family vacation this year. My sister Maria lives there with her family and they were gracious enough to lodge us and feed us while we were there. It was perfect weather and Maria kept us busy with fun things to do. Samuel had the time of his life playing with his cousins. There were times that I'd have to go find him to get a hug cause I hadn't seen him for so long. The boys (my nephews) were great with him. He has been going stir-crazy since we've been back home. Mom isn't quite as fun as the cousins are. We appreciate Maria and Roger letting us spend our vacation with them. They were wonderful hosts and showed us a great time. The above picture is at a park called (you got it) " Moose Park". Samuel spent most of his time on the swings. He loves to swing.
Left to Right: Samuel, Colton, Jackson, Tate, Mavrick and Marley

We went to farm were we picked apples and peaches. You rode a wagon out to the orchards and picked all you wanted. Samuel ate more than he picked. Left to Right: Marley, Mavrick, Samuel, Colton, Tate and Jackson.

We only picked a few peaches and apples as we had to travel home. They were delicious. One of the main reason we went to this farm was for the homemade pumpkin donuts there. Roger decided that we should go pick the fruit first and then come back for the donuts. When we go back they had just ran out and were not going to make anymore. Way to go Roger!!!! ha ha

Maria watched Samuel one night so Travis and I could go on a date. We went to dinner and then went and got ice cream at the mall. I know.... what a date. It was nice to be with each alone anyway. Thanks Maria.

Colton and Tate got to stay home from school on Friday to go on a picnic at a river with us. The kids had a blast. They played most of the time in the water. Maria said she'd give me a candy bar if I'd jump off of this rock into the river. After testing the water out I decided against it. I would have never recovered from that. ha ha Right to Left: Samuel, Travis, Maria, Colton and Tate. Marley is back behind Samuel.

Samuel loved the water. The cold doesn't seem to bother him.

Samuel and Tate digging for bugs. Just today Samuel was outside looking for bugs.

Mrs. Moore and Great Grandma Welch (to Samuel) meet us for lunch while we were there. Grandma Welch lives in Priest River about 40 minutes from Maria's. Mrs. Moore just happened to be visiting her mom (G. Welch) so we got an extra treat to see her also. It was so great to see them. We had a wonderful time catching up with them. Thank you Sharon for bring them and visiting with us. Left to Right: Mrs. Moore, Me and Grandma Welch
We couldn't get Samuel to hold still to take a picture with Grandma. He is very busy and is always looking for something to get his hands on.

Rasmussen Family Reunion (August 2008)

I know you can't see this very well but this was our first activity, hiking the Craters of the Moon. We got to explore lava caves and some of them were so dark that we had to use a flashlight to get around. If you can't tell this is Samuel and me.

Samuel got to celebrate his birthday along with the other cousins and his grandma which were all in August too. Samuel is two years old. He got a tool belt that his Aunt Lori made him and he loves to wear and use it like his daddy does.

Our family reunion was a lot of fun. We hiked the Craters of the Moon, shot guns, went to the lake, fished, had a prime rib dinner (very yummy mom and dad) and just enjoyed hanging with the family. Samuel had the time of his life with all the cousins to play with. I can't wait for the next family reunion in 2 years.

My First Post

I'm very excited about doing my first blog. My sister Shea is helping do this and thank goodness or I'd be totally confused. I feel this will be a great way to keep our family and friends updated on our little family. Samuel is changing all of the time and this will be a good way to keep you up with the changes. We went to the Oregon Coast for last years (2007) family vacation.
